You must remember this….

Fun! And such a good writing practice activity. I’m making my students do it, except they have to write a memory that they have of themselves with either Romeo and Juliet, you know, from when they used to live in Verona. BRILLIANT!

If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don’t speak often, please post a comment with a COMPLETELY MADE UP AND FICTIONAL MEMORY OF YOU AND ME. It can be anything you want–good or bad–BUT IT HAS TO BE FAKE.

When you’re finished, post this paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified) about what people DON’T ACTUALLY remember about you.

  1. Remember that time we went traipsing around Europe with just our cameras and 10 changes of underwear? And we met those really nice guys with one of those really teeny tiny cars who told us they would take us to Brussels for free… but they ended up taking us to a “really nice cafe in Amsterdam,” (we knew it didn’t take THAT long to get to Brussels from where we were..) where they fed us “the best brownies you’ll ever eat.”

Remember looking through our pictures the next day… WOW!!! Yeah… we’ll have to wait another 20 years before we even mention those to mom.. maybe 30…

  2. Hey d, remember that time that I got my graduation present from 2004 and my christmas present of 2005 and I thought they were both so cool? Yea we were having dinner at your house, and neither of us were busy or had anything to do, and we just ate and listened to Jack Johnson and talked and I opened my presents. Then it snowed outside!!!

  3. So, I was just sitting here eating some cheese, and I thought of your old goat, Magdalena-louie. I still can’t believe that you thought you could keep a goat in your spare bedroom! I mean, as if the smell wasn’t bad enough, the obnoxious chewing noises coming from her bedroom at all hours of the night was enough to drive one insane! All I can say is that I was so glad when she finally managed to chew her way through the outer wall and make her escape. Yeah, yeah, she was cute, I’ll give you that, with her yellow eyes and her gray fur, but she wasn’t nearly as cute as the platypus we kept in the attic and the platypus wasn’t nearly as much trouble.

  4. Ohh.. I was walking in the park today.. and remembered the day last year in December, that we had the dogs out? And it was starting to snow? And Osa, from across the street came running by with Dave, and jumped on Toby, thereby pulling on the leash so hard I tripped and fell on my face in the mud? Do you remember how that crowd of college men came running by, yelling “go, Rocky” to Toby? Somehow I lost my shoe in the whole mess, and my foot being as wet and muddy as my tee shirt.
Damn, I hate that dog. Thanks for pulling me out of the mud!
