I’m trying to see…
…if I can figure out…
…how to insert photos…
…directly into my posts…
…without having to create a separate post…
…for each individual picture.
Now…would someone be so kind as to explain to me how to put images in my sidebar? Anyone?
Can I just guess that, unlike me, you are OUT of the prison that they call “school”? 🙂
I will try to explain this simply. I hope you’re using a PC, because I can’t give you Mac directions as easily.
When you’re creating a post, you have different ways to view it (using the tabs on the top). If you click on the tab that says HTML, you’ll see the actual code that tells the browser how to display your page. If you go into edit mode on this post, you can copy the code for one of the pictures.
Then you need to go to the Dashboard and select “Change Settings”. Choose the Template tab. Here you only see the HTML. Scroll down until you get to the area where you want the picture (look for the appropriate heading – I’d give you an example, but it won’t let me in comments) and paste in the code for the picture from this post. Then you can replace the tag for the picture with the tag for the actual picture you want to use.
This may not be the most straightforward way to do it, but it’s the way I tend to do things – I find the HTML for something similar to what I want to do, copy it, and modify it to fit my exact needs.
Hope that helps!
Also, if you go look at Emilin’s blog (Name That Mama) you can View Source (from the Menu bar in Explorer) to see her code for her sidebar. It’s all the way at the bottom of the code.
Ah, yes, school is out and has been since last Thursday. We got lucky–only 2 snow days this year, and we don’t go back until late August. It’s, like, a REAL summer!
Thanks for the assistance. Emilin’s blog was actually what inspired me to ask about the sidebar. I’ll look more closely….
