This afternoon I walked out of work into the most gorgeous weather ever generated by the Universe–pristine blue skies and warmish air with just a hint of fall coolness. There was a breeze, and on it was just a hint of that autumn smell…falling leaves and woodsmoke and rain. When I got home I took Suzanna for a walk, and as we turned a corner onto an as yet undeveloped street behind my neighborhood the air around us came to life with bluebirds. There must have been 20 of them. There is nothing quite like being surprised by such beauty. A little further on Suzanna stopped suddenly and stared ahead, and I realized that we were being watched by a flock of geese. They were standing in the tall yellow grass eyeing us warily, honking quietly among themselves.
When we got back to the house I heated some tomato vegetable soup I’d made on Saturday and baked a mini loaf of cheesy garlic bread. I ate the whole loaf, and I don’t feel guilty at all because it was SO good. My new Yoga Journal came today, and “Friends” will be on for the next two hours.
It’s a good day.
Gorgeous. Makes me want to be there now.
makes me want to take pictures!
